artist shout out

Hi there everyone!

I wanted to give a quick shout out to a friend of mine who's an upcoming artist. I know, I normally don't do that kind of stuff but I really like and enjoy his work.

His main areas are illustrations and concept art. His work tends to be a little morbid and obscure, but is without a doubt attention-grabbing, thrilling and has an esthetic quality and value.

This video should give you a little insight in what he does.

how I get inspired

Friday I went shopping with one of my best girlfriends and she showed me a new - at least to me it's new haha - store where you can buy some pretty cool things. I just noticed that some of them were really expensive partially because they were fair-trade.
Don't get me wrong, I don't mind paying more when I know that the fabric is organic or was produced under fair conditions. I even bought a cute tshirt for 29,95€ which is usually not a price I pay for a simple shirt.
So, what I was going to say is that I don't have the money to buy all the things and clothes I like. That's why I like to use shopping trips to get some inspiration. There are actually a lot of things you can do yourself and save a lot of money doing so.
Thus I took some pictures of things that I liked or thought you might like and which are absolutely DIY-able.

So sorry for the low resolution, I just took some snapshots with my phone and the lighting wasn't the greatest either.
Let me know what you think and if you'd like me to do some tutorials on some of these.

sketching alive4fashion

For those of you who don't know her, alive4fashion is a (quite succesful) german youtuber. I wanted to sketch someone from youtube who's not as famous as a Michelle Phan and chose her. Plus I like this picture of her.
I know, that's not the greatest work I've done so far, but my mom said it looked amazing :D That's why I uploaded it.

She makes some pretty cool DIYs so go check her out :)

watch me develop a t-shirt design!

Before I paint a design on a shirt, especially when it's a little more challenging, I like to sketch it on paper first. This usually helps me to check whether what I'm planning on doing will work out the way I expect it or not. Plus I can eliminate mistakes and generally get a feeling for what I'm going to do.
So this time I thought I'd show you this process and as a bonus you can get a preview for my next project :)
