DIY ombre ear cuff

what you need:
  • 1mm thick wire (you can usually get this in silver, gold and bronze)
  • a round-nosed pliers
  • in case your round-nosed pliers doesn't already have that, a side cutter to cut the wire
  • a nail file
  • a ruler
  • a round pen
  • nail polish, you can choose whatever color you like
  • a sponge, I used a make-up sponge

what you do:
  • measure your wire: you need about 15cm, but to be sure, maybe measure a little more!
  • cut it
  • use the round-nosed pliers to form a small eyelet and then three twists, so you end up on the side where you made your first eyelet (sort of like an accordion)
  • form another eyelet to finish off the basic design
  • cut off any excess wire and file both ends so you won't hurt yourself
  • grab your pen and press the wire into the form of an ear cuff
  • use the round-nosed pliers to bend in the ends, this makes sure the ear cuff doesn't fall off
  • apply some nail polish to the tip of your sponge and dab it carefully onto your ear cuff
  • build up the color towards one end, let it fade towards the other
  • don't use too much nail polish at once or it will be hard to get a nice ombre effect
  • if you want, you can use some clear nail polish on top but this isn't really necessary
  • tadaaa! :)
