what you need:
- cans: I used old cans of used up coconut milk from this post
- white spraypaint and (an) other color(s) you like
- tape
- newspapers to protect the working area; the spraypaint is going to fly around a little, which is also why you should definitely do this outside
what you do:
- clean the cans, peel off the etikett and make sure they are dry
- spraypaint the cans entirely white, even if you chose to paint them in another color: the white underground gives a nice base for the following layers and helps the other colors pop
- let this first layer dry really well
- put the tape around the can: this will help you get a clean edge for the other color
- if you're not sure whether you can keep the still showing white part "clean" from the new color, you can also tape the whole part that's supposed to stay white
- in case that's not really your style you could also skip the tape and create a nice ombre effect
- if you want to spraypaint the upper part like I did, be sure to put the can upside down to dry or otherwise the color might drip and ruin the white part
- store your pens :)
If you try this I would love to see your results! so please instagram me pictures @themichelleburton :)
