- half an mid-sized onion
- a chunk of ginger and parsley root
- 1kg sieved tomatoes
- a sip of multivitamin juice
- 3 tomatoes
- 1 red pepper
- 2 carrots
- 2/3 cup of red lentils
- (1 teaspoon of sambal oelek)
- pepper, salt, sugar, basil and Italian herbs
- rapeseed oil
- a hand blender
what you do:
- chop onion, ginger and parsley root into really small pieces
- do the same to tomatoes, pepper and carrots
- sweat onion, ginger and parsley root with rapeseed oil
- add sambal oelek if you like and after a couple of minutes pepper, tomatoes and carrots
- deglaze it with sieved tomatoes
- add red lentils and all the spices
- let that simmer for a couple of minutes
- blend that quickly with the hand blender
- if the sauce gets a little to thick for you, add some multivitamin juice
