- a shirt you don't mind cutting
- scissors
- a pencil
what you do:
- decide whether you want to leave the sleeves or cut them off too
- since we're cutting the shirt into a crop, I don't recommend cutting the sleeves off too low, that might look odd and there might not be a lot of fabric left between your arms and where we are going to cut
- plus, whenever you cut shirts or any cotton fabric, keep in mind that the ends are going to roll in, so always measure an extra cm or two
- since this shirt is really loose and not fitted at all, I decided to cut off the sleeves
- in order to avoid cutting too low, I simply cut right along the seam line there
- then pull the fabric, so it rolls in and looks more neat and you don't have to worry about cutting in a perfectly straight line
- put on your shirt and decide where you want the highest and lowest point to be
- mark these points on front and back of the shirt and then connect them with a wavelike line
- keep the low and the hight part pretty wide and the "fall" pretty short
- don't forget: whereever you cut, pull the fabric a little; if you don't know what's this supposed to look like, check out my DIY muscle tee from an old tshirt post. It's similar to this one plus I made a video for it :)
